January 2026 Update

Upon coming into the New Year, I looked back at all I’d accomplished throughout 2025. The hectic moments of 2024 crept into January starting with me losing my Car as the clock struck 12 that night. Numerous plans I had for the year were swiftly pushed back with no definitive time frame for recovery in sight. Yet this January has been the complete opposite as life had given me new opportunities toward the end of last year. All planned releases for 2025 had obviously been delayed. However, the process of working on them has become more efficient than it had been in the previous years. Though I plan to release at least two of the projects this year, I won’t give a definitive timeline for the release of my projects this time until I’ve at least finished the second draft of my projects.

To put it bluntly, no real progress was made with the High Fantasy Novel. I don’t know what percentage of the story I was able to work on, but only two scenes were written the entire year. My Urban Fantasy Horror Novel has had a decent amount of progress made with the first half of the story being completed. Whereas at one point this half was meant to be its own novella, it is now considered only the first half of the first novel as it has the strongest ties to the second Novella I was writing for this project. Though progress may seem very slow in theory, its actually going much faster overall with the first draft currently being 60% done.

The Adult Sci-Fi Novel had the biggest improvement as it is now entering the second draft phase. In the previous update, I talked about how the only change I’ve made was the terminology and lore. However, I decided that the fastest way to tackle this project was to write the entire first draft like the Fanfiction Story it was originally meant to be. In December of 2025, I began a read through of the story, taking notes of the numerous story beats that I would need to change to make it fit into an original universe. This involved rewriting the backstories and histories of various alien races, recreating the power system, adding and removing characters, as well as expanding the lore to allow for more standalone stories to be told in this new universe. This is where a decent amount of time has went in the last month and it was not in vain as I am now 20% done with the second draft of this story. At my current rate, I expect this to be my debut novel in the place of my Urban Fantasy Horror Story.

The final piece of good news is that with my new job, I’m able to move towards writing full-time now. This improvement to my work-life balance was best demonstrated during the month of December where I was able to make real progress with my projects to even make this update relevant. This also allows me the opportunity to make due with my plan from last year of posting on this website more frequently than I have in the past. I will be working on redesigning this website as well. Currently, the look of the site is very bland. I’ve been doing some test designs to see what what best fit the direction I’m aiming for, but the process has been slow as it is not a major priority at this moment in time.

2025 New Year Update

Evening everyone! I hope you are having a great New Years! It’s been a little over three months since my last post as I am continue toward committing to a quarterly update on my projects as well as the website. This last few months have been pretty hectic, and writing has been much slower than I wanted it to be. However, not all that time and work has been in vain. I typically determine the progress of my story based on the number of chapters I’ve completed, but over the last few months I have been writing chapters out of order, with pretty much all of them being half-finished—the additional chapters I’ve written that is. The updated progress of each of the stories are as follows:

  • The Epic Fantasy Project had a minor increase to being 15% completed. This is a story that will require a lot more time and attention than the others, thus the progress will remain slower until the release of my Urban Fantasy Horror.
  • The Urban Fantasy Horror project is still coming along at a reasonable pace. While I didn’t reach my goal of being 50% done with the second draft of the project, I have progressed much faster than I was beginning to anticipate. I’m still on track to release this story by Summer time this year. One change I’m making with this project is turning it into a duology. Unlike the Epic Fantasy Project which was split into two books, this story is being merged into two books instead of four short novellas. This story is currently 40% complete, however this percentage is taking the new second half of the story into account.
  • The Adult Sci-Fi Novel is in the exact same spot as the previous update. Changes is terminology and lore have been made for the story, however those changes have not been implemented into the actual draft as of this post.

One change I plan to make this year is to be more consistent in posting onto this site. I have plans for topics to speak on including fanfiction, my writing process, and discussions on stories in different types of media. I also want to post a few short stories here as well from time to time, but those will be few and far between. My goal is one post per week, except on weeks in which I will be had at work on a book release.

By the end of March, I plan to reach begin revising the final draft of my Urban Fantasy Horror story as will as have the title of the book be revealed. I plan to increase progress of the other two stories by 5-10%, with better progress to come during the next quarter.

September Update 2024

It’s been a few months since I last made a post. I felt now would be the best time to release an update on the status of my work.

Progress on the Epic Fantasy Project has been very slow. I knew early on that the story would not reach the deadline I planned for this year, but I wasn’t sure how far of a delay I would require. As of now, I’ve moved the release of that story to the second half of 2025. Current progress on the story is now around 12-13%, and I’ve officially decided to split the story into two volumes, making this story as more of a Duology.

Along with this story, there are two other projects I have planned for 2025. The progress of these projects is much further along than the Fantasy Project as they are smaller by comparison. The first is a Novel/Novella that I mentioned in the last post as an Urban Fantasy Horror story, which I have been working on for a few years now. This is a story that’s currently 40% completed. The progress for it has been significantly faster than expected, and that’s because the scope of the story is much smaller than my Epic Fantasy Story. By comparison, the first act of the Fantasy Story has over three times as many major characters and showcases three different locations compared to the small-town setting of this project. The current plan is to release this story between late Spring and Early Summer.

The second story is an Adult Sci-Fi novel. This was originally a fanfiction story that I’ve decided to repurpose into an original story. It was already over halfway done with only eleven chapters remaining for the story. Most of the work for its second draft will be reworking the terminology and lore to stray far away from the property it was originally meant to represent. This is a project I plan to release in late fall of 2025.

By the end of the year, I plan to have at least 40% of the first draft for my Epic Fantasy completed and I expect to be 50% done with the second draft of my Urban Fantasy Horror story.

Fantasy Novel Project

Ever since 2007, I’ve tried my hand at independent game development. It was a dream come true for a young teen like me. I was finally able to accomplish one of my life goals much earlier than I expected to. One of the many now canceled titles I was working on was a fantasy Action Role-Playing Game (currently untitled). The overall vision of the game changed numerous times throughout its development, with the biggest change coming after my playthrough of Dragon Age 2, created by BioWare. A lot of elements I’ve experience from that game had a lot of influence on the extent of how I built this fantasy world, however the main crux of the story (its beginning, major plot-lines, and the ending) have remained the same since 2010. Around late 2020, I repurposed all of my video game projects into novels instead.

I focused my time on selecting scenes from each of my past projects and began writing for each of them. My goal was to determine the viability of each project as a novel by analyzing the chemistry between characters, the pacing, the interaction with the world, the themes, and the length of time it takes to write these scenes. Out of the five projects, only three proved to be the most viable. The first being an Urban Fantasy Horror novel, the second a Paranormal Thriller, and the third being an Epic Fantasy novel. The first two went pretty far along, with the former being around 10% complete. In the end, however, the Epic Fantasy novel proved to be the one the final choice for my debut novel.

My first Novel will be more of an unconventional fantasy story, though many tropes and themes you would normally expect in a fantasy novel. It will be set in a continent consisting of Six Kingdoms that are currently at peace, with the main protagonist having two objective: to kill the King and become the King. This Fantasy Project will mainly focus on the Theme of Family. As it was previously a game, the story is broken up into four arcs. It’s taken some work, but I was able to find a way to streamline the project into one coherent story rather than just four stories combined into one. However, the end result still showcases a novel far too long to be published as a single book. Therefore, I am still contemplating on whether it will be a standalone title or a Duology. So far, the story is about 5% complete overall and about 10% complete if I decide to split it into two books. The estimated release window for this story is Summer 2024.

Welcome to Fiction Paradise

Hello, and welcome to Fiction Paradise! This is a website I’ve created to share my thoughts and opinions on all things Fiction—whether it be Novels, Manga, or video games. I will also be using this website to discuss my own works of fiction.

Topics will focus on different aspects of fiction writing from the viewpoint of a new author and reader. While I won’t necessarily be reviewing works of fiction, I will be dissecting different aspects of some of my favorite stories, with most coming directly from video games. Finally, I will also be covering my own works by giving behind the scenes information on how I created my past work as well as information on future projects I’m currently working on. Stay tuned for more!
